Carrot candy

Maybe you know this recipe, it is one of my childhood favorites ... as simple as it is tasty! The orange Bulgarians have always been a boundless joy for me, and when my son asked me so nicely to make him these candies, I didn't hesitate!

  • We need:
  • 1 part finely grated carrot (in my case 100 gr)
  • 1 part sugar (in my case 100 gr)
  • lemon juice, to taste (I put the juice from 2 lemons)

Preparation time: less than 15 minutes


I mixed all these ingredients well and put them in a clay pot, then put them in the oven at the lowest temperature, turning the composition from time to time ... I kept everything dehydrated for about 2 hours (if you have more carrots, you will need to wait longer). After the composition bonded well, I let it cool, then I formed the jelly bulgaras and gave them cough sugar. If you leave them at room temperature for a few hours, the icing hardens a little, while the core of the candies is soft. They are absolutely delicious.
